Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ — The Cellular Energy Supplement for Healthy Ageing

Grow… Younger. Support mitochondrial biogenesis and density for lasting daily energy, sharper focus and healthy cellular ageing.

Most “energy” products borrow energy from tomorrow with caffeine. Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ is a stimulant-free cellular energy supplement that works where energy is actually made: inside your mitochondria. 14 ingredients. 20 g across two sachets plus a separate, stability-protected NADH capsule. Forest Fruit flavour.

Which energy problem are you solving?

Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ is one formula built for three very different lives. Choose the headline that sounds like you — the mechanism underneath is the same.

The energy you feel every day starts inside your mitochondria

Before it’s a mood, a productive afternoon, or the motivation to actually show up for your workout, energy is a cellular event — your mitochondria converting fuel into usable power, billions of times a second, in every cell you have. When that process runs well, you feel it: sharper focus, a steadier mood, more resilience against a demanding day. When it doesn’t, no amount of coffee fully makes up the difference.

Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ is a 14-ingredient cellular energy supplement built to support that process directly — not to mask fatigue with stimulants, but to support the cellular machinery actually producing your energy in the first place.

Healthy ageing starts with healthy mitochondria.

Why Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ is different

Most “energy” products on the market are really just caffeine in a new outfit. Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ contains none. Instead, it’s built entirely around mitochondrial physiology: direct NAD+ and ATP precursors (NADH, niacin, D-ribose), the coenzyme your energy-producing pathway runs on (Kaneka™ Ubiquinol), the fatty-acid shuttle that keeps cells fuelled through the day (L-carnitine), the cofactors every ATP-producing enzyme needs (magnesium, B1, B6, calcium), and the phospholipid building blocks your body uses to renew cellular structure over time (phosphatidylcholine).

We also split the formula deliberately: 20 g across two sachets for the full mitochondrial-support matrix, plus a separate NADH capsule — because NADH is notoriously unstable once dissolved in liquid. Keeping it encapsulated preserves its potency until the moment you take it.

Who it’s for

People managing genuinely demanding lives — careers, families, ambitions — who notice their energy, focus or motivation isn’t what it used to be. People interested in supporting healthy cellular ageing now rather than addressing it later. And people trying to build (or maintain) a consistent exercise habit who find themselves too drained to follow through.

Training for a race? The same formula is available in a sport/performance edition with endurance-specific guidance — or start from the Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ chooser page.

Why mitochondrial function is at the root of how you feel every day

It’s tempting to treat low energy, brain fog, or a flat mood as separate problems with separate causes. Often, they trace back to the same place: how well your mitochondria are producing ATP, in every organ, all day long. Your brain alone uses a disproportionate share of your body’s total energy output — which is part of why the first thing to fade on a low-energy day is usually your focus, not your muscles.

As we age, this system naturally becomes less efficient — existing mitochondria accumulate wear, and the rate at which your body builds new ones slows down. Two specific mechanisms explain why, and both are exactly what this cellular energy supplement is built to support: mitochondrial biogenesis and mitochondrial density.

What is mitochondrial biogenesis? (and why it slows with age)

Mitochondrial biogenesis is the process by which your cells build brand-new mitochondria — replacing worn-out ones and expanding your total cellular energy capacity. It’s driven by a master regulatory pathway centred on the protein PGC-1α, switched on by physical activity and by specific nutritional signals, including your cell’s available NAD+ supply.

NAD+ levels decline naturally as we age, and with them the signalling strength behind this renewal process. Fewer new mitochondria being built, over years, adds up to a real and noticeable difference in baseline energy and resilience.

How Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ links to biogenesis: NADH and the MTA¹⁴ Vitamin B3 Complex both feed directly into your NAD+ pool — the same pool that governs the sirtuin enzymes sitting upstream of PGC-1α. Quercetin, from Sophora japonica extract, has been studied specifically for supporting this signalling pathway. And once the renewal signal is on, phosphatidylcholine from soy lecithin supplies the phospholipid material your cells use to build new mitochondrial membranes.

The science: PGC-1α was identified as the master regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis (Wu et al., Cell, 1999). Tissue NAD+ has been shown to fall markedly across the adult lifespan (Massudi et al., PLoS ONE, 2012). Quercetin increased markers of mitochondrial biogenesis in muscle and brain in a preclinical model (Davis et al., Am J Physiol, 2009).

What is mitochondrial density? (and why it’s your daily energy reserve)

Mitochondrial density is simply how many mitochondria you have packed into your cells — your reserve capacity. Higher density means more total energy-producing capability available at any moment, which shows up as steadier energy through a long day, faster recovery from stress, and a body that doesn’t run on empty by mid-afternoon.

Density also tends to decline with age and with chronically high stress — meaning the very periods of life when you need the most energy reserve are often when your cells have the least.

How Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ links to density: a strong mitochondrial network is only useful if you can fuel and run it. L-carnitine tartrate shuttles fatty acids across the mitochondrial membrane for steady, lasting energy. Ubiquinol (CoQ10) is a core, non-negotiable component of the electron transport chain in every mitochondrion, and its natural levels decline with age. Magnesium is a required cofactor for ATP synthase — the enzyme that physically produces ATP — so your entire energy reserve depends on adequate magnesium being available.

The science: Oral CoQ10 reduced physical fatigue and improved performance in healthy volunteers under workload (Mizuno et al., Nutrition, 2008). L-carnitine supplementation reduced fatigue and improved physical and mental status in healthy elderly subjects (Malaguarnera et al., Am J Clin Nutr, 2007).

For the overperformers

If you measure your day by output rather than energy — pushing through fatigue with willpower and caffeine, staying “on” long after your body sent the signal to stop, feeling wired but never quite rested — you may be what we’d call an overperformer. It’s not a diagnosis, it’s a pattern: a demanding job, a full personal life, and a habit of running on adrenaline rather than genuine energy reserve.

The problem with that pattern is that it’s borrowing, not producing. Overperformers draw down their cellular energy reserves daily without meaningfully replenishing them at the source. A stimulant-free cellular energy supplement doesn’t add another mask over the gap — it supports the actual energy-production capacity needed to meet the demands you’re already placing on yourself, sustainably.

For those chasing focus and follow-through on their goals

Willpower gets a lot of credit for whether people follow through on their goals, but willpower is downstream of energy. Your brain is one of the most mitochondria-dense, energy-hungry organs in your body, and when cellular energy output dips, focus and follow-through are usually among the first things to go — long before you’d call yourself “tired.”

Supporting steady mitochondrial energy production is, in a very real sense, supporting the biological infrastructure focus runs on — helping you show up consistently for the goals you’ve set, rather than running out of gas halfway through the week.

For those building a consistent training habit

Plenty of people don’t struggle to start a workout habit — they struggle to keep it going, because sessions leave them too drained to function for the rest of the day, or too depleted to want to go back tomorrow. That’s rarely a motivation problem. It’s usually a recovery bottleneck: your body needs cellular energy to recover between sessions, and if that capacity is the limiting factor, both performance and motivation quietly decline together.

Supporting mitochondrial capacity supports faster, more complete recovery at the cellular level — helping workouts feel sustainable rather than depleting, which is often the real difference between a habit that sticks and one that quietly fades by February.

L-Carnitine Tartrate 1000 mg

“Keeps your cells burning fat for steady, lasting energy.”

What it is: L-carnitine transports long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane via the carnitine shuttle, where they’re broken down for energy. Without it, that fuel source stays locked out.

How it helps: Fat is a slow-burning, stable fuel source — but only if your cells can actually access it. Carnitine supports that access, helping your body draw on steady fat-based energy through the day instead of relying on sugar spikes that crash by mid-afternoon.

NADH — separate capsule 10 mg

“The direct fuel for the energy your cells make every second of every day.”

What it is: NADH is the reduced, biologically active form of NAD+ — the molecule that hands its electrons to Complex I of the respiratory chain to start ATP production. It’s delivered in its own capsule, separate from the sachets, because NADH is notably unstable once dissolved — keeping it dry and encapsulated protects its potency until you take it.

How it helps: Where niacin supports your body’s own NAD+ production over time, NADH supplies the active molecule directly — supporting immediate cellular energy output as well as the NAD+/NADH balance that governs cellular renewal signalling, particularly relevant as this balance shifts naturally with age.

Everyday Benefits

  • Directly feeds the first step of cellular energy production
  • Supports immediate cellular energy output
  • Supports the NAD+/NADH balance linked to cellular renewal
  • May support reduced perceived fatigue during demanding days
  • Supports sustained mental and physical output
  • Complements niacin’s role in NAD+ metabolism
  • Supports mental alertness and focus during long days
  • Delivered in a stable, encapsulated form to preserve potency

Long-Term Wellbeing Benefits

  • Supports normal cellular energy production
  • May support mental clarity and focus with age

Study note: Stabilised oral NADH (20 mg) improved cognitive performance and reduced sleepiness in healthy subjects experiencing jet-lag after an overnight flight (Birkmayer et al., Wien Med Wochenschr, 2002). Want more NADH per day? Choose the 20- or 40-capsule pack above, or see SCN™ NADH – Cellular Energy Production.

How to use Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴

Every morning

Mix 2 sachets in 200 ml room-temperature water. Swallow 1 NADH capsule with it, before breakfast, on an empty stomach for best NADH uptake.

Consistency beats intensity

Mitochondrial biogenesis and density change over weeks, not hours. Take it daily for at least 4–8 weeks, pair it with regular movement (the strongest natural PGC-1α signal there is) and good sleep.

Stacks well with

Ubiquinol Forte for extra CoQ10 later in the day, Mag⁵Plex⁷⁵⁰ in the evening for sleep and recovery, and NADH for a second capsule on heavy days.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cellular energy supplement, and how is it different from an energy drink?

An energy drink stimulates your nervous system with caffeine so you feel alert; it adds no energy to your cells. A cellular energy supplement supplies the substrates and cofactors your mitochondria need to produce ATP — NAD+/NADH, ribose, CoQ10, carnitine, magnesium, B-vitamins. Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ contains no caffeine or stimulants at all, so there is no crash and no interference with sleep.

Why is the NADH in a separate capsule?

NADH degrades quickly once dissolved in water, especially in the presence of acids and minerals. Keeping it as a dry, encapsulated 10 mg dose and taking it alongside the drink preserves its potency until it reaches you.

Will I feel it straight away?

Many people notice steadier energy and clearer focus within the first week — particularly from NADH, ribose and ubiquinol. The longer-term benefits (mitochondrial biogenesis and density) build over 4–8 weeks of daily use.

Can I take it if I already take CoQ10 or NADH?

Yes. Each daily dose provides 600 mg Kaneka™ Ubiquinol and 10 mg NADH; adjust other products accordingly or use them at a different time of day. If you take medication, speak to your doctor first.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

The sachets and the HPMC capsule shell are free from animal-derived ingredients. The product contains soy (lecithin).

Is Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ doping-free?

Yes. All SCN™ products are manufactured in an EU GMP facility, are 100% doping-free and cross-contamination safe. This is the health/healthy-ageing edition; endurance athletes may prefer the sport edition with race-specific guidance.

Grow… Younger. Starting tomorrow morning.

Mitochondrial Activator¹⁴ — the stimulant-free cellular energy supplement from SCN™. 14 actives, one morning ritual, energy you produce rather than borrow.
