Why Ubiquinol Forte is not just another ubiquinol supplement
Most ubiquinol supplements give you one ingredient in a soft gel and hope for the best. SCN™ built Ubiquinol Forte the way we build everything for endurance sport: around the mechanism. Coenzyme Q10 sits inside the mitochondrial electron transport chain, shuttling electrons between Complex I/II and Complex III so your cells can generate ATP. In its reduced form – ubiquinol – it is also the only fat-soluble antioxidant your body makes itself, protecting cell membranes and LDL particles from oxidation.
Ubiquinol Forte delivers a full 250 mg of Kaneka QH™ Ubiquinol – the most-studied branded ubiquinol in the world – and then stacks three ingredients that work on the same pathways:
- Cursol® curcumin – a double-patented, highly soluble curcumin that supports a healthy inflammatory response and cartilage protection, standardised to 95% curcuminoids.
- Grape seed extract 95% proanthocyanidins – potent polyphenol antioxidants that support nitric-oxide-mediated blood flow and healthy blood pressure.
- BioPerine® – the clinically studied piperine extract shown to increase CoQ10 absorption, so every milligram counts.
Four ingredients, one purpose: more cellular energy, better protected cells, healthier circulation – whether you are chasing a marathon PB or simply want to feel at 55 the way you felt at 35.

Ubiquinol vs conventional CoQ10 – why the form matters
Ubiquinol (“you-bik-win-all”) and ubiquinone (conventional CoQ10) are two forms of the same nutrient. Your body has to reduce ubiquinone into ubiquinol before it can be used for energy production or antioxidant defence. Young, healthy adults do this easily. From around the age of 40, the conversion becomes slower and less efficient – and the same is true under heavy oxidative load, such as endurance training.
Conventional CoQ10 (ubiquinone)
The oxidised form. Must be converted into ubiquinol before it contributes to cellular energy. Conversion capacity declines with age and under oxidative stress. Poorly absorbed from standard capsules.
Kaneka QH™ Ubiquinol
The reduced, antioxidant form – ready to use, no conversion required. The predominant form of CoQ10 in a healthy young adult (over 90% of circulating CoQ10). Up to 70% more bioavailable than conventional CoQ10. The only fat-soluble antioxidant produced inside the body.
Ubiquinol for endurance athletes – the hidden performance variable
Every pedal stroke, every stride and every pull in the water is powered by ATP produced in mitochondria. CoQ10 is the rate-limiting electron carrier in that chain. Intense training increases oxygen consumption up to 15-fold, and with it the production of reactive oxygen species that oxidise – and deplete – your CoQ10 pool. Studies show endurance athletes often have lower plasma CoQ10 than sedentary people, precisely because they burn through it faster.
- Power output: more electrons carried means more ATP available per second at threshold intensity.
- Oxidative protection: ubiquinol regenerates vitamin E and protects muscle-cell membranes from exercise-induced lipid peroxidation.
- Recovery: lower post-exercise markers of muscle damage and a calmer inflammatory response.
- Heart efficiency: the myocardium has the highest CoQ10 concentration of any tissue – keep it topped up and your engine’s pump runs cooler.
- Masters athletes: the 40+ athlete faces the double hit of training depletion and age-related conversion decline. Ubiquinol solves both.
What’s inside Ubiquinol Forte – every ingredient, in full
Kaneka QH™ Ubiquinol (reduced Coenzyme Q10) 250 mg
Kaneka has produced CoQ10 by natural yeast fermentation since 1977 and was the first company in the world to stabilise ubiquinol for supplements. Kaneka QH™ is the ubiquinol used in the overwhelming majority of published human ubiquinol trials, which is why SCN™ accepts no substitute. At 250 mg per capsule, Ubiquinol Forte sits at the upper end of doses used in performance research and well above the 100 mg found in most ubiquinol supplements.

Cursol® – Double-Patented Soluble Curcumin, 95% curcuminoids 250 mg
Curcumin is the most researched anti-inflammatory polyphenol in nature – and the hardest to absorb. Cursol® solves this with a double-patented, free-flowing soluble powder that disperses in the gut rather than passing straight through. It is standardised to 95% curcuminoids, suitable for daily long-term use, and designed to support a healthy inflammatory response wherever it is needed.
Cursol®’s activity has been evaluated on three laboratory models selected as predictive for humans – human and bovine chondrocytes, human chondrocytes in alginate beads, and human cartilage explants. The trials confirmed both its anti-inflammatory action and its chondroprotective (cartilage-protecting) activity. In the same models, Cursol® inhibited not only PGE2 but also nitric oxide (NO) production – meaning curcumin acts on factors that contribute to cartilage degradation and inflammatory cell recruitment, not just on a single pain mediator.
Cursol® curcumin benefits
- Powerful support for a healthy inflammatory response
- Supports joint comfort and protects cartilage
- Supports cognitive function and brain health
- Supports a positive mood
- Antimicrobial activity
- Supports liver, gall bladder function and digestion
- Reduces post-exercise muscle soreness and damage markers
- Strong antioxidant – complements ubiquinol’s membrane protection
Grape Seed Dry Extract, standardised to 95% proanthocyanidins 100 mg (95 mg OPC)
Grape seed oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) are among the most potent plant antioxidants known – considerably more active than vitamin C or vitamin E in laboratory assays. Their signature action is on the blood vessel wall: OPCs support endothelial nitric oxide production, promote vasodilation and protect collagen and elastin fibres from degradation. For an endurance athlete that means better blood flow to working muscle; for everyone else it means healthy circulation, healthy blood pressure and skin that keeps its structure.
Grape seed extract benefits
- Supports healthy blood pressure already within the normal range
- Improves blood flow and vasodilation
- Reduces oxidative damage to cells and lipids
- Supports healthy cholesterol balance
- Improves collagen levels and skin structure
- Supports bone strength
- Supports brain health and memory as it ages
- Supports healthy venous circulation and reduces post-exertion swelling
- Supports wound healing
- Supports liver protection
- Helps block the formation of nitrosamines and protects healthy cells
BioPerine® – Piper nigrum extract, 95% piperine 30 mg (28.5 mg piperine)
BioPerine® is Sabinsa’s patented black-pepper extract standardised to not less than 95% piperine – and the only piperine ingredient with clinical studies specifically on CoQ10 absorption. It works by increasing blood supply to the GI tract, improving the emulsification of fat-soluble nutrients and increasing active nutrient transport across the intestinal wall. In short: it makes every other ingredient in Ubiquinol Forte work harder.
BioPerine® benefits
- Clinically shown to increase CoQ10 absorption
- Increases absorption of selenium (30%), beta-carotene (60%) and vitamin B6 (140–250%)
- Boosts curcumin bioavailability
- Supports heart health and cellular energy via better CoQ10 uptake
- Supports a healthy inflammatory response
- Antioxidant activity
- Supports liver protection

Stop converting. Start performing.
Ubiquinol Forte gives your mitochondria the finished product – 250 mg of Kaneka QH™ Ubiquinol, absorbed better with BioPerine®, protected by Cursol® and grape seed OPCs.
Who should take a ubiquinol supplement?
- Endurance athletes – runners, cyclists, triathletes, swimmers, rowers – at any age, to protect and replenish a CoQ10 pool that training depletes.
- Masters athletes (40+) – the group that gains most, facing both training depletion and age-related conversion decline.
- Adults over 40 who want to maintain energy, heart health and cognitive sharpness as they age.
- Anyone under high physical or mental stress – long working weeks, poor sleep, travel – where cellular energy demand outstrips supply.
- People focused on healthy aging – ubiquinol is one of the best-studied nutrients for mitochondrial longevity and skin protection.
If you take any medication, speak to your doctor before using Ubiquinol Forte. Some commonly prescribed medicines are known to lower the body’s natural CoQ10 levels; your doctor can advise whether supplementation is appropriate for you.

Ubiquinol supplement – frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ubiquinol and CoQ10?
They are two forms of the same molecule. CoQ10 supplements usually contain ubiquinone, the oxidised form, which your body must convert into ubiquinol before use. Ubiquinol is the reduced, active antioxidant form – already converted, up to 70% more bioavailable, and the form your body actually runs on.
Is 250 mg of ubiquinol a lot?
It is a performance-level dose. Most ubiquinol supplements contain 100 mg. Published athlete trials have used 200–300 mg daily, and ubiquinol has an excellent safety record at these intakes. Ubiquinol Forte is designed so a single capsule reaches that research-backed range.
How long until I notice a difference?
Plasma ubiquinol rises within days, but tissue saturation – and the changes in energy, recovery and exercise tolerance that follow – typically takes 3–6 weeks of daily use. The Olympic-athlete trial ran for six weeks.
Why add curcumin and grape seed to a ubiquinol supplement?
Because the three ingredients attack the same problem from different angles. Ubiquinol fuels and protects mitochondria; Cursol® calms the inflammatory response that hard training or aging provokes; grape seed OPCs keep blood flowing to the tissues that need the energy. BioPerine® makes sure you absorb all of it.
Can I take Ubiquinol Forte every day, long term?
Yes. Ubiquinol, Cursol® and grape seed extract are all suitable for continuous daily use. Many SCN™ athletes take it year-round, increasing attention around key training blocks and race season.
Is it safe for drug-tested athletes?
Yes. Like every SCN™ product, Ubiquinol Forte is 100% doping-free and produced in a cross-contamination-safe facility.
Your mitochondria don’t take rest days. Neither should your ubiquinol supplement.
