As far as we know, there is no more complete hydration formula on the market
Most electrolyte products do one thing: they replace salt. Most carbohydrate drinks do one thing: they deliver sugar. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ is a true carbohydrate electrolyte drink engineered to do both, plus the three things endurance athletes actually lose a race over: acid build-up, phosphate depletion and muscle breakdown.
- Hydrates to the cellular level with 11 electrolytes and sport salts
- Feeds working muscle for over 2 hours with a 6-phase carbohydrate release
- Buffers hydrogen ions and lactate with bicarbonate, citrate and phosphate
- Supplies phosphorus for fast ATP and phosphocreatine re-synthesis
- Protects muscle tissue from training-induced breakdown with HMB
- Multiplies ingredient uptake with BioPerine® black pepper extract
What else could a hydration drink do for you?
Find yourself below. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ was built for you.
Endurance Athletes
Marathon, cycling, triathlon, trail, swimming
The carbohydrate electrolyte drink that replaces three bottles: carbs for the engine, salts for the sweat, buffers for the climb. Mix one serving per 2 hours of racing and stop thinking about nutrition.
Team & Racket Sports
Football, basketball, tennis, padel, rugby
Repeated sprints drain phosphocreatine and flood muscle with hydrogen ions. Phosphate, bicarbonate and a fast-slow carb mix keep the second half as sharp as the first.
Strength & CrossFit
Long sessions, heavy volume, hot gyms
Intra-workout glucose without the crash, 1,050 mg HMB against muscle protein breakdown, and the magnesium and sodium you sweat out under the bar.
Everyday Hydration & Wellbeing
Heat, travel, outdoor work, long active days
When water alone isn’t enough: a complete electrolyte spectrum (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus) with slow-release Palatinose™ for steady energy and no sugar spike.
Why a carbohydrate electrolyte drink beats electrolytes alone
Sodium is absorbed in the small intestine through a transporter that also carries glucose. The two move together: when glucose and sodium are present at the same time, water follows faster than either could pull it alone. This is the principle behind every oral rehydration solution in medicine and the reason the world’s best endurance fuels are never “zero carb”.
Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ takes that principle further. Instead of one sugar and one salt, it pairs six carbohydrates with six different absorption speeds con eleven electrolytes and sport salts, so that fluid, glucose and minerals arrive in the blood in waves rather than in a single spike followed by a drop.

Carbo⁶ — Six carbohydrates, one two-hour energy curve
A single sugar gives you a single peak. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ layers six carbohydrates so that one is always arriving as the previous one fades, from instantly to the second hour. The result is stable blood glucose, no “wall”, and no stomach fighting you for blood flow.
Dextrose
The simplest, fastest carbohydrate your body knows. Dextrose is glucose itself and needs no digestion. In Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ it is the first responder, the reason you feel the first sip, and the glucose that pairs with sodium to pull water across the gut wall in the opening minutes.
Fructose — the endurance athlete’s second channel
Glucose absorption is capped at roughly 60 g per hour because its transporter saturates. Fructose uses a different transporter, so adding it alongside glucose raises the total carbohydrate your body can oxidise during exercise. Fructose also stimulates rapid fluid and solute absorption in the small intestine, which is exactly what a hydration formula wants.
Maltodextrina
Chains of glucose molecules with a high glycaemic index, so energy is available quickly and oxidised quickly during exercise. The chain length matters: maltodextrin delivers a lot of energy per unit of osmolality, so it empties from the stomach fast and reduces the risk of gut complaints during prolonged effort. It is the backbone carbohydrate of serious sports drinks for good reason.
Cluster Dextrin® (highly branched cyclic dextrin)
Cluster Dextrin® is a high-molecular-weight, ultra-low-osmolality carbohydrate produced by enzymatically branching amylopectin into cyclic clusters. Those properties make it highly soluble, give it one of the fastest gastric emptying times of any carbohydrate, and virtually eliminate the gastric distress associated with less advanced carbs. At the same time it releases glucose in a smooth, sustained curve rather than a spike, replenishing muscle glycogen without disturbing fat oxidation.
- Research-supported for enhanced endurance performance
- Fast gastric emptying, minimal GI disturbance
- Lower stress-hormone markers after exhaustive exercise versus other carbohydrate sources
Palatinose™ (isomaltulose) — two hours of steady energy
Palatinose™ is a naturally sourced carbohydrate made from sugar-beet sucrose by rearranging the bond between glucose and fructose from α-1,2 to α-1,6. That one change makes the molecule digest far more slowly, so it provides full carbohydrate energy (4 kcal/g) with a low glycaemic response, sustaining the power curve into the second hour and improving fat oxidation during activity. It is vegan, kosher, halal, non-GMO and the first tooth-friendly carbohydrate.
- Balanced, sustained energy supply, no spike and crash
- Supports stable blood glucose during long sessions
- Higher fat oxidation during exercise compared with fast sugars
- Non-cariogenic, gentle on teeth
Amylopectin (waxy maize)
Waxy maize starch is almost pure amylopectin, a highly branched glucose polymer. In the stomach it forms a light, easily digestible gel that, together with Palatinose™, keeps releasing glucose long after the fast sugars are gone. It is the component that lets Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ honestly claim 120 minutes.
Lytes¹¹ — Eleven electrolytes and sport salts, 6.1 g per serving
This is where Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ separates itself from every other carbohydrate electrolyte drink. A typical electrolyte tablet delivers 0.5–1 g of minerals. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ delivers 6,110 mg of a precisely built mineral and salt blend per 21 g serving: sodium in four forms, calcium in three, magnesium in three, plus potassium citrate. Every form was chosen for a job, not just for the label.
Sodium Bicarbonate · Sodium Citrate · Disodium Phosphate · Sodium Chloride
Sodium is the electrolyte you lose most in sweat and the one that drives fluid retention and thirst. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ supplies it in four forms, and three of them are also alkaline buffers.
- Bicarbonato sódico raises blood buffering capacity, so hydrogen ions and lactate leave the muscle cell faster during hard efforts.
- Citrato de sodio works as a second, gentler buffer and supports fluid retention.
- Disodium phosphate supplies phosphate for ATP and phosphocreatine re-synthesis and is the phosphate form studied for oxygen uptake.
- Cloruro sódico is plain sweat salt, replaced like-for-like.
- Together: lower acidity during and after exercise, faster hydrogen-ion clearance, and support for extending maximal-intensity efforts from seconds into minutes.
Magnesium Citrate · Magnesium Bisglycinate · Magnesium Gluconate
Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 enzymatic reactions, including every step that makes and uses ATP. Three chelated, highly absorbable forms give 115 mg of elemental magnesium per serving (31% NRV).
- Normal muscle and nerve function; reduces tiredness and fatigue
- Supports electrolyte balance and normal energy-yielding metabolism
- The mineral most athletes under-replace, directly linked to cramping and heavy legs when low
Calcium Bisglycinate · Calcium Glycerophosphate · Calcium Pyruvate
Calcium triggers every muscle contraction. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ provides 375 mg (47% NRV) across three forms, two of which also carry a second active molecule.
- Bisglicinato de calcio: chelated to glycine for high absorption and zero stomach irritation.
- Glicerofosfato de calcio: calcium bound to a phosphate, adding to the phosphorus pool for ATP turnover.
- Piruvato cálcico: pyruvate is the end product of glycolysis and the entry molecule of the Krebs cycle, the point where carbohydrate becomes aerobic energy. Supplying it supports energy metabolism and carbohydrate utilisation during long efforts.
- Together: normal muscle function, faster rapid-movement execution and more phosphorus for cellular energy.
Citrato de potasio
Potassium is the main intracellular electrolyte. Sodium works outside the cell, potassium inside, and the balance between them is what makes a nerve fire and a muscle fibre contract. Potassium citrate completes the electrolyte spectrum and contributes to normal muscle function, nervous-system function and blood pressure.
Phosphorus — the forgotten performance mineral
Phosphate salts are involved in cell structure, energy transport and storage and numerous processes essential to health, and mineral status can fall in response to prolonged exercise. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ delivers 266.8 mg of phosphorus per serving (38% NRV) from disodium phosphate and calcium glycerophosphate. Phosphate loading has been studied for its effect on maximal oxygen uptake and endurance performance in trained runners and cyclists (see research below), and no study has reported a decrease in performance.
Beyond carbs and salts: the two ingredients no other hydration drink includes
HMB-Ca (β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate) — 1,050 mg
HMB is the active metabolite of leucine. Roughly 5% of dietary leucine becomes HMB, and HMB is the part that most effectively slows muscle protein breakdown. Gram for gram it is significantly more potent than leucine at attenuating protein breakdown, which is why it is classed as an anti-catabolic rather than an anabolic agent. Long, hard training is exactly the state in which muscle breakdown accelerates. 1,050 mg per serving puts the protective dose where it belongs: inside the session, not after it.
- Reduces exercise-induced muscle protein breakdown
- Lower markers of muscle damage after demanding training
- Supports faster recovery between sessions
BioPerine® (Piper nigrum extract, 95% piperine) — 14.7 mg
BioPerine® is the patented black pepper extract shown to increase the bioavailability of a wide range of nutrients, including minerals. In a formula whose entire purpose is to get electrolytes into cells, an absorption enhancer is not a bonus; it is a multiplier on everything else in the scoop.
The research behind Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹
Cluster Dextrin® (highly branched cyclic dextrin)
Cyclic dextrin vs maltodextrin in cycling
In a 2013 human trial, 24 male athletes who consumed 15 g of Cluster Dextrin® during cycling exercise performed better than those who took the same amount of maltodextrin.
Swimmers, intervals at 75–90% VO₂max
A 2015 study found that swimmers who took HBCD before high-intensity intervals showed a markedly longer time to exhaustion than when they took water or glucose.
Gastrointestinal comfort during cycling
Hiroshi et al. (2004) reported that subjects consuming a 10% HBCD sports drink during bicycle exercise experienced few gastrointestinal complaints and continued exercising comfortably with little fatigue compared with a glucose-based drink.
Triathletes, stress-hormone response
Suzuki et al. (2014) found that triathletes who consumed HBCD before a race showed a reduced stress-hormone response and lower urinary cytokine levels compared with glucose, suggesting a smaller inflammatory load and less recovery time.
Phosphate loading
Competitive runners
Sodium phosphate loading (1,000 mg four times daily) influenced maximal and run performance in seven male competitive runners and significantly increased maximal oxygen uptake by 6–12% (Kreider et al., 1990). A similar rise in VO₂max was noted in 10 well-trained distance runners (Cade et al., 1984).
Competitive cyclists
Phosphate loading was associated with improved endurance performance in competitive cyclists (Kreider et al., 1992). Results across the literature are not unanimous, but no study has reported a decrease in performance (Williams, 2005).
Carbohydrate + sodium co-ingestion
Multiple-transportable carbohydrates
Combining glucose and fructose raises the ceiling on exogenous carbohydrate oxidation during exercise compared with glucose alone, and fructose stimulates rapid fluid and solute absorption in the small intestine. This is the basis for the dextrose + fructose + maltodextrin core of Carbo⁶.

Carbohydrate electrolyte drink FAQ
Is Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ an electrolyte drink or an energy drink?
Both, by design. It is a carbohydrate electrolyte drink: 13.1 g of carbohydrate from six sources for energy, and 6.1 g of electrolytes and sport salts for hydration, in every 21 g serving. It contains no caffeine or stimulants.
How many carbs do I get per serving, and is that enough for racing?
13.1 g of carbohydrate per 21 g serving (about 55 kcal). That is a hydration-first dose: enough to drive sodium and water absorption and keep blood glucose stable, while leaving room to add gels or Endurance Carbs for high-intensity racing where you want 60–90 g per hour.
Why does it contain sodium bicarbonate?
Bicarbonate is both an electrolyte and a buffer. At the dose used here it contributes to the sodium total and helps clear hydrogen ions from working muscle, which is why Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ is used by athletes who feel the burn in climbs, intervals and finishing kicks.
Will it upset my stomach?
It was formulated not to. Every carbohydrate was chosen for low osmolality and fast gastric emptying (Cluster Dextrin®, maltodextrin, Palatinose™), the minerals are chelated or buffered forms, and the serving is mixed into 300 ml of water. Sip it steadily rather than drinking the whole bottle at once.
Does it cause a sugar crash after training?
No. Palatinose™, Cluster Dextrin® and amylopectin release glucose slowly, so the formula is designed against a post-exercise glycaemic drop.
Can I use it on non-training days?
Yes. Half a serving in 300 ml water is a complete electrolyte top-up for heat, travel, long outdoor days or after a sauna.
Is it tested for banned substances?
SCN™ products are manufactured in GMP and ISO 9001 certified facilities under our doping-free, cross-contamination-safe policy. Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ contains no stimulants and no prohibited substances.
Is it vegan?
All carbohydrate and mineral ingredients are plant- or mineral-derived. Palatinose™ is certified vegan, kosher, halal and non-GMO. HMB-Ca and BioPerine® are not animal-derived.
Stop carrying three bottles. Start carrying the right one.
Carbo⁶-Lytes¹¹ is the carbohydrate electrolyte drink that hydrates, fuels, buffers and protects in a single 21 g scoop. Developed by SCN™ for endurance athletes who refuse to choose between staying hydrated and staying fast.
